ARC for Beyond the Darkness!

Okay, I think I'm ready to hold my own contest for an ARC for Beyond the Darkness. Sorry I couldn't think of anything clever to do, so I'll just have you leave a comment of your favorite St. Patrick's day tradition...oh, and if I could beg of you to spread word of the upcoming release Salvatore would be eternally (and I do mean Eternally) grateful!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll draw a random number on St. Patrick's Day!

Good Luck to All!!

Alex

Well... around my house there really is not set tradition for St. Patty's day. We wear green... and the sad part is that where it stops. There is a parade in the town next to us. They throw veggies and trinkets. My mom and I use to go when I was younger. And from what you caught - veggie wise - you would make you a veggie soup with the next day.

That hot delicious cover has been on side bar.. announcing his coming out party!!!
Have a great day, you just made mine!

I have to admit that since we've had kids the St. Patrick's Day party tradition has fallen by the wayside, but we still try to celebrate. I cook the American-Irish traditional meal of corned beef, cabbage and soda bread. Then we have story time- books about the potato famine and the immigrants. Then we sing and dance- Drop Kick Murphy was big last year.

This year we are trying to find some new stuff to do here in DC but so far no solid plans yet.

I haven't observed my favorite tradition for St. Patty's Day since I was in college. I went to a small private school in NY (Alfred University) for ceramic engineering and St. Patty was our patron saint. So every year the U would cancel classes and the little village would have a parade and party. It was SO much fun. We engineers would stay up all night drinking while making our floats. Needless to say the parade could get out of hand and being in the southern tier of NY we often had a snow storm....memories.
My current favorite tradition now that I'm an "old" person is corned beef and cabbage dinner with beer.

Well- I really don't have any set traditions- mainly just wear the same green shirt every year- you know the "Kiss me I'm NOT Irish" shirt. We've gone to a few local hockey games around St. Patty's Day and everyone wears green hats or something crazy on our heads. We've also gone to one of the local Pubs that has this awesome band that plays Celtic music-
Yum-O the lead singer usually wears a kilt and ONE day I will work up enough nerve to see what or if he wears anything under it!!! I love your entire series- Jagr is my favorite so far- ok I will be honest- it switches between Jagr and Styx- really loved them both!! Oh and Levet is the funniest character ever- his one-liners are priceless!!!!

I don't celebrate St. Patrick's Day as much as I used to, but when I was in college, my friends and I would go to this wonderful Mexican restaurant for green margaritas.

Looking forward to Beyond the Darkness. Salvatore is one of my favorite bad boys!

LOVE the Darkness series!! Can't wait for more!

As for St Patty's Day.... We live to far from an area that has a parade or any kind of big celebration, so the leprechauns visit us! I decorate my front patio for as many holidays as I can and right now, there are shamrocks and rainbows all over it. And as for the leprechauns, I leave little gifts of 'gold' scattered around for my family to find. And somehow, most of the food in all the lunches that go to work or school are green. And of course there's the corned beef, cabbage colcannon, soda bread and beer we have for dinner. And before we end the day, my hubby, who is Irish, tells our kids the story behind St Patty as well as an Irish Legend. My kids love it that I paint little 4-leaf clovers on their cheeks before I send them to school.

Have a fantastic day!

Don't really do anything for St.Patrick's, although I do wear green if I even remember it's that day LOL. Can't wait to read the new book, I know it will be a fight who gets it first, my sister-in-law or me!
I'll spread the word to my facebook friends!

Does it count that my brother is getting married on St. Patrick's Day? Our family is Irish, so I suppose it's only fitting. It will be one big party, that's for sure.
And of course I'd love an ARC of BtD!

My family owns a small bakery and every year the town holds an Irish soda bread contest to see who can make the best soda bread! We've won two years in a row but I think the tasty bread is more enjoyable than the trophy! :D

The best part about St. Patty's day has to be Corned Beef and Cabbage. Yummy!

We always wear green of course. But, I spend part of the day watching QVC. They have an all day Irish Day on St. Patrick's Day. So I tune in to see the jewelry, sweaters and belleek that the irish have brought from Ireland. Also watch just to hear the accents.

Getting all decked out in green of course. However, I don't usually need it to be St. Patty's day to don my green gear. I do try to stay away from the idea of leprechauns though, its the Scot in me I guess that rebels against the idea of little green men. Vampires and werewolves, though I have no problem with. The idea that there are men like Salvatore or Styx is too intriguing an idea to bypass. I can't wait to read Beyond the Darkness!!!

Erin go Braugh: We celebrate St. Patricks Day just like the rest of the holidays. The house gets decked out in the Irish Flag, with pots of shammrocks around the front door. Most of the rooms have some sort of Irish decor from the Waterford Crystal Vases, and fresh flowers. Beleek pottery with the leprachaun figurines and Irish blessings scattered throughout! My two grandsons wear their traditional Irish kilts and Aran sweaters to Church and of course Irish music is played all year long!! We usually finish the day with my homebaked Irish soda bread and cornbeef and cabbage with buttery potatoes and GOLD TEA. yummy.. Your invited to come by for a great meal!

The only things we would do is dress in green and my mom would make corned beef and cabbage. These days we wander outside and watch the parade that runs past our house.

Gotta wear green of course, and listen to some of the great Irish music. And corned beef and cabbage - that's always great.
Looking forward to Beyond the Darkness.

We don't really celebrate St. Pat's day - not even green beer. But growing up mom always cooked cabbage and hash. My brother and I always wore green because those who didn't wear green got a good pinch on the arm :-)

I live in Gloucester City, NJ and everyone is Irish here. The big tradition is the Pub Crawl. There is a bar on pretty much every corner in town so by the evening we get a glass of wine sit on the stoop and laugh at all the drunk people stumbling through town. Best night ever!

We don't really have any St. Paddy traditions! I do wear green that day and that is it..
I can't wait for Beyond the Darkness to come out, I love these books. I haven't missed a one! Hopefully, I'll get lucky and win this arc (hint, hint)

Before St. Patrick's Day I make Irish Soda Bread for everyone I know. Family and friends get dressed up and go to the same bar every year for lunch and a few beers(maybe more). Then off to the parade where our cars are parked to open our trunks and coolers and watch the parade. If its cold I bring Irish coffee.

Well, I just turned 21 recently and I am going to an Irish pub on the 17th....so I am excited about that....especially since I have Irish roots.

There is an Irish Pub Stroll every year in the area where I live. Canned goods are donated for admission and upon admission everyone is given any number of Irish/green trinkets to carry and wear all day long as well as a cup to take with you to announce your participation in the stroll. There is a live bag pipe player that goes around to all the bars dressed to the nines in a new fabulous kilt every year and nothing but Irish drinking songs are played in the participating pubs. Fun is had by all and leaves everyone wishing that St. Patrick's day came more than just once a year.

Hmmm the older I get the less I seem to celebrate this one. Used to ALWAYS mean green beer now it's down to trying to remember to wear something green!

At home, we have green eggs and ham for breakfast. The kids love that. At work, a Leprechaun leaves treats and chocolate covered treates on everyone's desk. (I don't dress up)
At school, and this is my last year, we go on a Leprechaun pic'nic.

As a longtime New Orleanian, my favorite St. Pat's tradition is the Irish Channel St. Patrick's Day parade, basically a Mardi Gras parade in green instead of purple and gold. Float riders throw green beads, of course, but also onions and cabbages. A couple years ago, my friend got hit in the head by a flying cabbage and ended up in the ER! A good time was had by all.

Unknown said...

Unfortunately I don't celebrate St Patrick's day so I don't have any particular tradition to tell you about :)

Well for St. Patty's day I don't really have a tradition for it at my house, I usually just wear green.
I can't wait to read Beyond the Darkness! My tradition isn't much but I hope I win!

Hi Alexandra!!
To be totally honest I think the only real tradition on St Patrick's Day is the green beer. I see you still have the pics from your DeKalb visit. What a wonderful time I had visiting with you. I am so excited for Salvatore's story to come out. He's quite the alpha, it's going to fun watching him brought to his knees by a strong woman. Then we get Tane's story this year too. How awesome is that? Thanks for the series, keep them coming...absolutely love it.

Being partially Irish, I must say my favorite traditions are of the food variety... Corned beef and cabbage, and of course, Irish Soda Bread. Love it.
I hope you and yours a wonderful St. Paddy's day.

No real tradition. TRY to remember to wear green and a shamrock pin a customer made me. Used to do the bar tradition when I was younger.

Usually I go to the St. Paddy's Day parade (Jackson, MS) just to see the sweet potato queens and what mischief their up too. But this year I think I shall put on my green and add a few drops of green food coloring to my drink and relax in the quiet of my home. Maybe I'll even find a couple of movies made in Ireland to watch (thank you netflix). I'll actually be celebrating my St. Patrick's Day later on this year as my mother, sisters and I go to Ireland for a family rally.
Hope everyone has a fun Paddy's day.
