Fabulous review for Born in Blood

Callie Brown is a skilled necromancer, one of Valhalla’s powerful ones. She only helps the authorities when cases involve ‘high bloods’ or ‘freaks’. Callie’s ability allows her to experience a person’s last minutes before death to identify the victim’s killer. A strange strong male necromancer fixates on her and raises the dead to obtain a magical coin. She and Duncan work together to learn the identity of the necromancer and his objective with the coin and Callie. Sergeant Duncan O’Conner is a part of the Kansas City police department. He does not view the people of Valhalla like his fellow officers or normals. Duncan’s secret gives him better insight and understanding with the freaks. When a crazed necromancer becomes interested in Callie, killing and raising the dead, Duncan acts on the attraction he has had for years for the red-haired necromancer while trying to protect Callie from harm. At times, Duncan came across a little pushy for my tastes; however, the fact that he did not have the same prejudices towards the high bloods as the mortals did won me over and endeared him to me. Callie was both strong and weak. She had her moments when her insecurities reared up but it made her character one I could relate to and sympathize with. Since BORN IN BLOOD is the first book in THE SENTINELS series, it started out a little slow but necessary so the author could introduce the elaborate working and mindset of the world. Valhalla’s infrastructure intrigued and interested me, how each person with talents had a placement. I hope upcoming books delve deeper into the Sentinels and the Mave. BORN IN BLOOD is a great start to a promising new series. The book’s concept had a faint X-man-ish flavor with its mortal’s prejudices that set the series apart from the usual paranormal reads available, a great break from the standard vampires and weres. A fabulous review from Fresh Fiction!

Reviewed by L Walker Posted September 14, 2013 Romance Alexandra Ivy reaches into her past works and reintroduces MY LORD ETERNITY, the second book in the Immortal Rogues series about three vampires chosen to protect the keepers of three magical amulets. Each amulet is a piece of the sacred medallion the great Nefri used to create the place of peace for vampires, known as the Veil. While most vampires choose to exist peacefully in the Veil, there are some among their kind that seek out power, race dominance and stubbornly refuse to abandon the old ways of blood lust that made them unsafe among humanity. Nefri not only magically binds each amulet to a human maiden she feels is worthy of it's keep but also sends a trusted vampire guardian to watch over the bearers of the amulets. Lucien Valin is a vampire of pure heart and finds humans quite interesting. Unlike most of his vampire brethren, Lucien has a fondness for humans; often finding himself drawn in fascination to beautiful human females. When he is chosen by Nefri to be the guardian and protector of Jocelyn Kingly, he willingly accepts his mission as it allows him to leave the Veil and return to the world of humans. Lucien does not anticipate the strong physical reaction he has to Jocelyn but is further captivated by her willingness to help those of her kind in need. A vampire only has one chance at their true mate, and the young woman that he has promised to protect might turn out to be the one his immortal soul never forgets. Chosen by Nefri as a keeper of one of the sacred amulets, Jocelyn Kingly, once the most sought after prize in high society, is barely managing to make ends meet since being disowned by her parents and cast out of her life of comfort. Trying desperately to make a life of her own after a devastating social scandal, Jocelyn agrees against her better judgment to allow the handsome an alluring Lucien to rent some vacant rooms in her modest London home. Fueled by her desire to help others, Jocelyn finds herself getting closer to the charming tenant as he manages to inject himself quite frequently into her daily routine. As a keeper of an amulet, Jocelyn soon finds her world turned on it's head as the evil vampire Amadeus sets his sights on obtaining her amulet, stopping short of nothing to achieve his goal. MY LORD ETERNITY is a well written, classical style story that takes place in a time long before most of the books in the Guardians of Eternity series. This book and I am sure the whole series will certainly remind you of how far times have come in respect to what was once considered scandalous and proper behavior. The author provides more insight to the creation of the Veil, the earlier vampire society and manages to create a hero that steals the spotlight in most of the book. Learn more about My Lord Eternity SUMMARY To other vampires, mortals are weak, uninteresting creatures. To Lucien Valin, they are infinitely fascinating. Especially Jocelyn Kingly - once the prize of London society, now an outcast. As the vampire assigned to guard her, Lucien is relishing his task. But her beguiling goodness puts her in terrifying danger. Not just from the traitor intent on claiming her mysterious amulet, but from the desire Lucien struggles to keep in check. Youthful infatuation already cost Jocelyn her good name. But even with little to lose, instinct tells her that accepting Lucien as a tenant in her home is a devil's bargain. As she roams London's streets at night, helping the most wretched, she feels a dark force drawing near. And Lucien - magnetic, charming, irresistible - may turn out to be her saviour, her lover, or the means to change her destiny forever.

First in the Sentinel series, coming December 31st!!
In a stunning new paranormal romance series—even edgier than her Bestselling Guardians of Eternity books—New York Times bestselling Author Alexandra Ivy lures readers into the dark, seductive world of the Sentinels—humans outcast by their hidden abilities, treading the line between life and death, good and evil, pleasure and pain… BORN IN BLOOD: Sergeant Duncan O’Conner has seen it all before. A beautiful erotic dancer is found murdered in her home—no suspect, no motive. But there’s one clue: she’s missing her heart. It’s enough to make the hard-bitten Kansas City cop enlist the help of a necro—one of the dead-channeling freaks who live in the domed city of nearby Valhalla. It’s a long shot, but desperate crimes call for desperate measures. Unlike the other “high-bloods” in Valhalla, Callie Brown considers her abilities a gift, not a curse. But when she reads the dancer’s final thoughts, she senses a powerful presence blocking her vision. This is no ordinary homicide. This is the work of a legendary necromancer who controls souls. A ravenous force that will put Callie’s skills to the test, O’Conner’s career at risk, and both their hearts on the line…literally.

A lovely review from Fresh Fiction!! "Just when they thought the danger was over ... it may have just begun." Darkness Avenged Alexandra Ivy Reviewed by Annetta Sweetko Posted June 14, 2013 Romance Paranormal With Armageddon adverted you would think Santiago would be more than happy to get back to his vampiric life as manager of Viper's Club, but the exuberant atmosphere is not doing a thing to uplift his spirits. He was furious when Nefri, the clan leader who lives beyond the veil, disappeared soon after the Dark Lord was destroyed. He's in a fighting mood so it is only a matter of time before he finds himself fighting the threat of a DARKNESS AVENGED. He goes searching for his old master when the witch who had been helping him comes to the Anasso, Styx, saying that Gaius is still alive and up to no good. In the meantime Nefri is called on by the Oracles and she is sent looking for Gaius on their behalf. It isn't long before they are working together, with the irritating presence of Levet, the miniature gargoyle, and finding themselves against something much worse than even the Dark Lord had been. Also involved against his will is Roke, who is staying in the Annaso's mansion because a clairvoyant saw him in a vision. No one is sure what was to happen, but the boss says stay close so he has no choice. While unhappily playing prison guard he finds himself attracted to and ticked off by the witch, Sally. DARKNESS AVENGED is action packed, filled with brooding vampires, enough heart racing sex to leave you breathless and of course Levet who adds the right touch of comedy, though I don't think he realizes it. The non-stop action with its varied storyline will keep the reader enthralled all the way to the last page. This is a fantastic continuation of the Guardians of Eternity by author Alexandra Ivy. Each book from this series is fresh and filled with unforgettable characters, a lot of emotional upheavals and did I mention gorgeous vampires and a few hunky werewolves. A must read! Added to this book is a bonus novella entitled "Levet" which gives the reader more background information on our favorite gargoyle, who is now trying to get back into the Gargoyle Guild, that is, if he survives his less than loving family. Oh yes ... it is also a very intriguing love story between a vampire Elijah and a nymph named Valla, who both come to Levet's rescue a time of two. Learn more about Darkness Avenged SUMMARY The Search For A Traitor As the demon world celebrates the defeat of the Dark Lord, the vampire Santiago's mood remains bleak. He still yearns for sensual, raven-haired Nefri, who has inexplicably disappeared. But brooding for Nefri is a luxury Santiago does not have. His traitorous sire, Gaius, is unleashing a violent scourge upon the mortal world, and Santiago must stop him before it's too late. . . Leads To A Dangerous Seduction To her dismay, the all powerful Oracles have sent Nefri on her own mission to find Gaius, and failure is not an option. Nefri's search leads her to the vampire's abandoned lair--and straight into Santiago's path. It's clear Santiago intends to seduce her, but then an ancient, banished evil reappears, threatening to thrust the world into a madness it cannot survive. . .

Fantastic review for Predatory

From Fresh Fiction!! This is one of the best collections of novellas I've read. All are highly entertaining, and even those with ties to the author's previous series books were easy to follow, and more importantly, enthralling. They all have small touches of whimsy, ranging from the mostly serious Out of Control to the wacky High Stakes. Most impressive, despite the shortened form each read as satisfyingly as a full-length novel. The stories I found most intriguing were Ivey's Out of Control, the first hint of her new Sentinals, series and In Still Darkness by Dianne Duvall, book 3.5 in her Immortal Guardians series. Both were my first encounters with the authors' worlds but they won't be my last. The other two stories were very high quality, don't get me wrong, but something about the world building used by Ivy and Duvall connected better with my own personal taste. High Stakes is connected to Hannah Jayne's Underworld Detection Agency and Ties that Bind seems unconnected to the Nina Bangs series with which I am familiar, regardless, it was a great read. In summation, PREDATORY is worth every penny. Learn more about Predatory SUMMARY Out Of Control by Alexandra Ivy Ph.D student Angela Locke has a crush on her sexy professor, Dr. Nikolo Bartrev. When she learns he’s actually a Sentinel with extraordinary powers, she joins forces with him to catch a psychopath. But soon, their hottest pursuit is of each other... Ties That Bind by Nina Bangs Cassie Tyler agrees to sub for her friend at the funeral home where she works. But she gets more than she bargained for when a group of men attack her and a vampire comes to her rescue… In Still Darkness by Dianne Duvall Immortal Richart d’Alençon can’t forget the woman who rewarded him with a sensuous kiss after he saved her from a trio of vampires. While Richart knows that loving a human can only bring trouble, the taste of forbidden lust is too great to resist… High Stakes by Hannah Jayne When vampire fashionista Nina LaShay’s design contest rival is found dead, she’s the prime suspect. Sexy photographer Pike is number two. He’s the kind of man who makes Nina salivate. But will she have to reveal herself to have him— and to save them both? Or does Pike have a secret of his own?

RT gives Darkness Avenged 4 1/2 stars!!

DARKNESS AVENGED by Alexandra Ivy Genre: Paranormal/Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance Sensuality: HOT RT Rating 4 1/2 Ivy fans are in for a special treat as not only do they get a darkly romantic adventure featuring sexy Santiago and the mysterious Nefri, they also get a bonus short story featuring everyone’s favorite gargoyle, Levet. In book after book, Ivy builds a fascinatingly complex, ever-evolving mythology where dynamic and sometimes stubborn characters collide — with epic results. While most of the paranormal/demon world is rejoicing over the defeat of the Dark Lord, vampire Santiago remains angered that, despite their sensual connection, Nefri returned to behind the Veil. Then, a former dark witch informs the vampires that the traitorous Gaius did not perish with the Dark Lord but is free and unleashing a strange violent scourge on the mortal world. Santiago is tasked with hunting down Gaius, his sire, but what he doesn’t know is that Nefri has been given a similar task by the Oracles. An ancient evil has escaped its prison and taken up with Gaius and it will be up to Santiago and Nefri to find and stop it. But that task won’t be easy, since the means to defeat this entity are shrouded in dark magic and death. (ZEBRA, Jun., 352 pp., $7.99) Reviewed By: Jill M. Smith

My Lord Immortality Immortal Rogues My Lord Immortality had such a wonderful story line. It is well written and the plot keeps you interested from start to finish. Fresh Fiction review for My Lord Immortality

My Lord Immortality Alexandra Ivy Reviewed by Annetta Sweetko Posted March 25, 2013 Romance Paranormal In MY LORD IMMORTALITY a traitorous vampire is seeking a medallion that can be used to rip away the Veil that has kept vampires separated from humans. This medallion had been broken in three pieces and given to three different women who can only willingly give it away. Knowing the danger the possession of these magical pieces would entail for these women, a guardian is sent to watch over them. MY LORD IMMORTALITY is the tale of Amelia Hadwell and her guardian Sebastian St. Ives. Amelia Hadwell has turned her back on society, a society that would have locked away her brother, William, because he didn't match up to expectations. She is all there is to protect this large but gentle man, until a gypsy woman gives her a medallion then her world changes drastically. Sebastian St. Ives is a scholarly vampire who has the duty of watching over Amelia, but being so close to the human woman brings to mind much more than books and philosophy. He knows the danger that could befall her and is determined that he will not allow anything to happen to this woman. No matter how utterly headstrong she turns out to be, he will do his duty then return to the peace and quiet of the Veil. So he plans, but the first encounter with the beauty has his scholarly mind turning to more emotional whims. MY LORD IMMORTALITY is a book that is impossible to put down. It fits into a number of genres so anyone into historical, paranormal or romance will find this one a perfect read. The setting is historical London and adds to the feel of the danger young Amelia faces so bravely. There are gorgeous vampires and the right amount of romance to give the heart a number of quick flutters. MY LORD IMMORTALITY is the third in the Immortal Rogues series by author Alexandra Ivy. Though it is not necessary to have read the previous books in the series, this is a stand alone, once you have read it, it is a no-brainer that you will want to read the others. Predatory Review

PREDATORY by Nina Bangs, Alexandra Ivy, Dianne Duvall, Hannah Jayne Genre: Paranormal/Urban Fantasy, Anthology Sensuality: HOT 4 Stars RT Rating These four fabulous authors give us lovely little tastes of their vampire worlds. These stories will be especially appealing to fans of the various series that these shorts fit into. It is always fun to get an additional glimpse into our favorite universes. In “Out of Control,” Ivy launches a new series featuring immortal sentinel Nikolo, who is trying to guard a lovely young scientist who doesn’t realize that her gifted handling of genetic material has put her in the crosshairs of a killer. However, he cannot seem to guard his heart. In Bangs’s “Ties That Bind,” a frightened girl is rescued from a funeral home — by a vampire. Duvall takes us to her Immortal Guardians world with “In Still Darkness,” where Richart is unable to keep away from a redheaded human, even though he knows that vampire hunting and humanity don’t mix. I’ve had a few questions about my upcoming LEVET book. It’s a short-short story (around 15,000 words) and while it focuses on Levet it’s not his love-story which I’m still working on . There is another couple, Valla and Elijah. You’ll remember Valla as the nymph that Jaelyn was forced to leave behind in the slaver’s prison. I’ve always regretted leaving her there and needed to figure out a way for her to have her HEA. (Yes, I know she’s a character in a book, but she’s real to me). This is Levet’s coming home story. His opportunity to confront his family! Also, for those who are wanting the story in print, my publisher will be putting it in the back of DARKNESS AVENGED coming in June as a bonus novella!!! I think this should answer most questions!!! Alex

Woot! A fabulous review for Fear the Darkness!! Fear The Darkness Guardians of Eternity, #9 I have waited very patiently for this book and I have to say it did not disappoint. I can tell you guys from the bottom of my heart that Alexandra Ivy is one of my favorite authors. She has a way of writing that keeps the reader guessing, but the book still flows well. A wonderful review from smexy books!!

Alexandra Ivy and Laura Wright have partnered up on a new series that has started the paranormal romance genre off right in the new year! Bayou Heat is a set of two novellas that weave together to start a story arc that is guaranteed to please. So far two more double novella releases are planned. The first novella is Raphael’s story and introduces you to the world of magic lands, sexy puma shifters and the lush Louisiana Bayou. We immediately meet Ashe, the spirited daughter of a drunken, neglectful mother who is inexplicably pregnant with only flashes of memory of her mysterious lover. Recognizing Ashe as his mate and scenting his babe within her (I LOVE when these males use their…scent abilities *wink*), puma shifter Raphael sets out on a collision course that pits his magical race’s fears, ancient beliefs and desperate hope against the small chance that his unexpected and destined union with Ashe is the key to unlock the secret to saving the barren Wildlands. However, danger is paramount, when an unknown and unfamiliar enemy sets out to destroy this spark of life. Barely escaping the cross hairs of mysterious assassins, Raphael whisks Ashe and his unborn cub to his race’s sacred Wildlands where she can be protected and cared for, however, Ashe’s human nature requires the professional care of a OBGYN- and naturally Raphael demands a female doctor to care for his new mate. Rough edged and insanely close to his animal, Parish is charged with liaison duty and the string of events that brings Doctor Julia Cabot into the fold of the Wildland community is hilarious. Recently spurned in love and looking for a new direction, she is not remotely prepared when Parish comes barreling into her life. Parish harbors a deep hatred for humans but there is something about Julia that soothes his hunter spirit. Just as you think things are set to work out for the pair, the danger that Raphael and Ashe narrowly escaped has infiltrated the sacred magical land and poised to strike. The novellas are fast paced and unbelievably sexy- I mean taking a break to pant between page turns sexy- and draw you into this world of sensual awakening and love. The puma shifters are not your garden variety aggressive and possessive males. My favorite part is easily Julia’s first dinner at the boarding home Parish decides she will stay in where he can protect her (of course). Julia is aroused beyond measure and… "Perhaps you should retire, Miss Julia. Might I suggest a bath?" She sighed. "With soap." At first Julia was so consumed with the aggressive banter of the two males at the table she didn’t catch the woman’s meaning right away. But when she did, she closed her eyes and winced with humiliation. She was turned on thinking about Parish and every damn feline in the room could smell it… Ivy and Wright have broken the mold and crafted a smart and exciting tale that leaves you not only wanting more- but wanting EVERYTHING. I think I’ve found a great new world to escape to!
