Gift Cards!

So I have my gift cards from Christmas...for bookstores of course (my family knows me sooooo well). I like to hold on to them and savor the thought of spending an afternoon browsing through the books. Of course, I have some that are absolutely must buys! Especially paranormal series that I have been waiting forever to hit the shelves :) But I was sorting through my books and I realize that there are some series that seem to have played out :( So, I wanted your opinion. What series are you just foaming at the mouth to get your hands on and which series have you given up on? (You can say mine :) Also, what keeps some series so incrediably exciting and what makes some become....repetitive. I would LOVE to have your insight!

I just discovered the Lynsay Sands Argeneau series (Single White Vampire, A Bite to Remember, A Quick Bite, etc...) Not only does she have a different take on vamps (like you Alex) but her humour is outstanding and I've found myself laughing out loud when reading her books. I laughed so hard when reading Single White Vampire that my hubby had to read it after me just to see what was so funny. He laughed too and enjoyed it as well. I'm most looking forward to your newest in March but I also cannot wait for another Karen Marie Moning fever book, the last Faefever left me hungry for more! I'm a huge fan of paranormal romance because it combines my two loves science fiction and romance. That's why I love your books too!

There are more, but those top my list at the moment.

I loved Nora Roberts "Sign of the Seven" trilogy that ended with the December release of "The Pagan Stone". I just started the Black Dagger Brotherhood vampire series by JR Ward and I'm liking it. One of my favorite paranormal reads of 2008 was Christina Dodd's "Darkness Chosen" series.

I love these posts! I add to my purchase list too.

My "TO BUY" list:

Keri Arthur's Riley Jensen series, Sydney Croft's ACRO series (YUM), Larissa Ione's Demonica series, Jeaniene Frost's Vampire Huntress series, Colleen Gleason's Gardella series (and the last one left us hanging as to which HEA it will turn out to be), JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series.

Of course, March brings the next Guardians book that is already underlined (and highlighted) on the calendar. I even have October penciled in for Darkness Unleashed (as the fifth in the series). I sincerely hope there will be more to follow. I plan on re-reading the first three starting mid-February.

There's also a new vampire series this summer from Emma Holly that I am looking forward to as well.

Yours, going to try Larissa Ione.
Ward, Cole, Smith, Frank...

Quiting a series is so hard to do... You're always eager to know how it will continue. I keep away from series with only one heroine and more then one hero (I'm a one woman, one man kinda girl lol)
But one series that is dropping imo is Kenyon... I loved her in the beginning but now...
Reason... too much of everything. I loved Acheron, but One Silent Night was a huge disappointment...

Oh and Feehan of course!!! How could I forget her.

WOWZA! Awww! My friend was SUPER THRILLED to get g/c to chapters for xmas too!!!! I can just imagine the HUGE list of books she was planning to buy! haha! There is something soothing about just being in a bookstore or music store...
I just picked up the latest LARA ADRIAN and could NOT wait to get my hands on the last two books of the TWILIGHT series!!! WOWZA can't wait for the movies!!!
Your series is AWESOME!!!! Each vamp/character *especially the gargoyle!* is absorbing! Viper is still one I want to come and whisk me away! lol Can't wait to read more! As as DR, each heroine is INTERESTING *b/c of her strength and the way the GUY has to work for her!*, which you don't always find...even sometimes the 'strong' woman just sits there while the guy does everything! SHAY ROCKS! I am just so PROUD of her! I always think I'll get sick of the Pierce Anthony books...but they suck me in! SOME parts feel repetitive, until there is the PAYOFF! Even the Harry Potter books *pls. don't kill me guys* can have a bit of parts which are...not compelling...but I'd read them till the day I die! Anywho...enjoy and let us know what you BUY!
